Autism is a complex neurobiological disorder that typically lasts throughout a person's lifetime. It is part of a group of disorders known as Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and today, 1 in 166 individuals is diagnosed with autism (5.5 out of every 1,000 school-age youngsters), making it more common than pediatric cancer, diabetes, and AIDS combined in children between the ages of 4 to 17.
Unfortunately, Autism impairs a person's ability to communicate and relate to others and a person with autistic symptoms is obsessed with rigid routines and repetitive behaviors, such as obsessively arranging objects or following very specific routines.
